“One Church Is Just As Good As Another”

The True Church of the Bible

The predominant theme in the denominational world is that one church is just as good as another. That way they can pretend to be accepting of those with differences even though they would not teach or do those same things. Because so many people believe this, churches are built in such a way as to attract people with the amenities they offer. These amenities are not a reflection of what God wants in His church, but rather of what men desire. And the various churches seek to out-do one another, adding more programs and perks than their neighbors. Often, advertisements for churches fail to mention any kind of spiritual message at all, and are consumed with the various physical functions that are available. Sports teams, drama presentations, musical concerts, and the like are the new normal for these churches. Actually, Bible study is a rarity.

The True Church of the Bible (cover)What is the church of Christ? Is it different from the denominations, or is it just another denomination itself?

Using the Bible as the standard, author Carey W. Scott examines the church’s worship, work, doctrine, and more; and contrasts it with what can be found in the denominational world.

NEW RELEASE: Church History for Busy People

We would like to announce our newest title – Church History for Busy People by George A. Klingman – is now available.

Church History for Busy People (cover)George A. Klingman (1865-1939) – son-in-law of I. B. Grubbs – was a preacher, writer, and teacher during the first part of the twentieth century. He was described by Richard Thomas Hughes as “a pioneer in…higher education” and “probably the best-educated preacher in Churches of Christ during the first third of the twentieth century.” His educational career included work with Abilene Christian College, Potter Bible College, and Cincinnati Bible Seminary.

In Church History for Busy People, Klingman traces the changes made in church organization, doctrine, and worship since the time of the first century. He discusses the various sects, creeds, reforms, persecutions, and movements that have been part of this history. Since this material was written in 1909, it only traces this history up to that point. However, this book continues to be a valuable resource for reference even today.

Identifying the Lord's Church (cover)Download a sample of the book!

Jesus told His disciples that He would build His church. Yet there are a countless number of churches that exist in the world today. How can we find the one that Jesus built?

This book has been written to help you identify the Lord’s church today. In order to do this, we will consider four questions.

  1. How many churches did Jesus build?
  2. What rule does His church follow?
  3. Who makes up His church?
  4. What is His church to be doing?

By answering these four questions, you will be in a position to be able to identify – and become a part of – the Lord’s church today.

Continue as it Was in the Beginning

Proving the Church of Christ

Remember Christian, YOU are a part of the church (1 Corinthians 12:13). As such, it depends largely on YOU as to the continuance of the church as it was in the beginning. As we mentioned in Chapter One, the resulting “many religions” came because some discontented member(s) of the Lord’s church thought he had a better idea than God (1 John 2:19). If the church is to continue as it was in the beginning, then we must mind the same rule (Philippians 3:16-17).
