In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus described two paths that are before each one of us. There is a broad way that leads to destruction and a narrow way that leads to life. The Lord has called us to follow Him down the narrow way, though there are few who will take that path.

In this book, sister Luci Partain discusses this narrow way. Through this collection of essays, she explains what the life of a disciple will look like – pursuing holiness, focusing on what is important, and learning to be like Jesus. As many choose to follow the broad way, we need to be different from the world and keep walking the narrow way.

NEW RELEASE: Church Leadership

We would like to announce our newest title – Church Leadership by Donald Townsley – is now available.

Church Leadership (cover)By the Lord’s design, local churches are to be overseen by elders – mature, faithful men who would shepherd the flock in that place. This is a vital work. Sadly, though, many churches are lacking qualified men who are able to fill this role.

Donald Townsley (1931-2013) labored as a preacher of the gospel of Christ for over fifty years. Recognizing the lack of qualified, godly leadership in churches and the problems that come from that deficiency, he put together this material on the work of elders. His simple and straightforward outline of the topic will help men prepare themselves for this work and help congregations identify and develop elders among them.

There are questions at the end of each lesson to aid in personal and group studies of this material.

NEW RELEASE: Exegetical Analysis of the Epistles

We would like to announce our newest title – Exegetical Analysis of the Epistles: Notes on First and Second Corinthians, Galatians, and Hebrews by Isaiah Boone Grubbs – is now available.

Exegetical Analysis of the Epistles (cover)Isaiah Boone Grubbs (1833-1912) was a gospel preacher and served briefly as editor of the Apostolic Times. He is best remembered for his work as a professor of the College of the Bible in Lexington, KY where he worked with J. W. McGarvey and others.

Grubbs’ Exegetical Analysis of the Epistles, containing his notes on First and Second Corinthians and Galatians, was published in 1893. The notes on Hebrews were taken from his class at the College of the Bible in 1891 and 1892. All of these have been collected in a single volume in this book.

NEW RELEASE: The Church of Christ

We would like to announce our newest title – The Church of Christ by Tolbert Fanning – is now available.

The Church of Christ (cover)Tolbert Fanning (1810-1874) was one of the early figures in the Restoration Movement and had a strong impact on brethren in the South. He began preaching early in his life and at one point traveled with Alexander Campbell, preaching through Ohio, Canada, and New England. He established Franklin College near Nashville and co-founded the Gospel Advocate, a journal that continues to be published today.

In The Church of Christ, Fanning addressed the issue of “church polity,” including the views among the denominations regarding their chosen form of church government. He articulated his view of the role of preachers and elders in the church today. His thought-provoking explanation of the organization of the church provides us with an opportunity to search the Scriptures and examine our understanding on this subject.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Material by Luci Partain Now Available in Digital Format

Books by Luci Partain now available in digital format

Earlier this month we announced the first batch of materials to be made available in digital format. Today we are happy to announce that the three books we have published by Luci Partain are now available digitally as well.

  1. Competing Worldviews: A Collection of Essays Contrasting the Biblical and Humanistic Worldviews – ten essays discussing the difference between a Biblical and humanistic worldview and why we should choose to adopt a Biblical worldview.
  2. A House Built by God: A Collection of Essays Discussing the Biblical Teaching about the Home – eleven essays discussing the home as God designed it, including the roles of husbands and wives, in contrast with the popularly held views of our godless culture.
  3. Be Still My Soul: A Collection of Essays about Finding Hope and Encouragement in the Face of Suffering and Trials – twenty-four essays that deal with the problem of suffering, trials, and discouragement in order to help Christians find hope and encouragement.

For each one of these books, you can get either a Single User license or a Congregational Use license, depending on your needs. The Single User license allows you to store and use the file on any of your personal devices or print the material for personal use. The Congregational Use license allows a congregation (or other study group) to share the digital file with its members and make multiple printed copies for use in class, making it a great option for Bible classes and other groups.

Also, we are working on a fourth book by Luci Partain that should be available in early summer in both print and digital formats. Stay tuned for more information about that.
