The topic of giving can be a difficult and awkward subject to discuss from the pulpit. Yet it is vitally important to the function of the local church and the duty of the disciples who make up each congregation. This material presents a thorough examination of the New Testament teachings about giving. It is meant to encourage Christians to faithfully follow the Lord’s plan for the church’s work and motivate each one of us to strive to improve our own giving.
This expanded edition also includes other related articles dealing with money in general, church membership, tithing, modern methods of giving, and more.
Now Concerning the Collection has been designed to be an easy-to-read and easy-to-understand reference on the topic of giving that will be beneficial to all Christians.

In The Scheme of Redemption, Maurice Barnett expertly addresses the plan by which God made salvation available to all men. This two-volume series thoroughly explains the primary theme of the Bible while refuting some of the common errors about Christ and His sacrifice on the cross.
Benjamin Franklin (1812-1878) was an influential leader among conservative brethren in the Restoration Movement. Much of his influence came through his work as editor of the American Christian Review – a paper he started in 1856 and continued as the editor until his death.
David Lipscomb (1831-1917) was one of the most influential gospel preachers in the South during his lifetime – mostly through his work as the editor of the Gospel Advocate, a work he did for over fifty years. In addition to his editorial writings and gospel preaching, he taught daily Bible classes as the Nashville Bible School which he founded in 1891. He also served as the President of the Board of Trustees of the Fanning Orphan School from its establishment in 1884 until his death.
